27 Jun English Olympic – school stage
As an English teacher, I often wonder how to help my students to acquire vocabulary and grammar structures, and to succeed at school as well as, more generally, in the entire education process. Of course, while learning a language – just like with playing a musical instrument – various revisions are of great importance.
Some worksheets have already been designed, so it’s worth using them to test ourselves or prepare our students better for the 8th-grader-exam.
I have personally tested all of these worksheets with a sixth-grade student and I’m impressed how much can be done: how the teacher can awaken the student’s passion for a language and teach him or her how to play with its lexical aspects e.g. by showing a word that has got two meanings: place 2) notice Or, by highlighting the difference between American English and British English, e.g. quit (AE) – give up (BE)
